School Events

Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the home of the Washington Capitals, would like to welcome your school to the rink!  Ice skating is a great way to entertain students for class parties, club outings, field trips, and even fundraisers!  We invite you to take advantage of our special 2012-2013 school year skating opportunities.

Private Ice Rentals
Rent the ice for your private use! Invite up to 300 students, faculty, staff and parents for a fun evening on the ice! We provide you with the tickets for your staff to sell at the door. You decide the cost per ticket for your students. Most schools sell tickets between $6.00 and $8.00 each.

Each ticket includes admission, skate rental, and exclusive use of one NHL size rink during the time reserved for your event. We require that you hire at least two to three skate guards for the duration of your event at the cost of $25 each. Skate guards distribute skates and monitor skaters on the ice.  Skating instruction is available at an additional fee.  Payment must be made in advance of the event. School Spirit Night
All Arlington schools are invited to participate in our “School Spirit Night.” Spirit nights can be held during Public Skate sessions on Friday evenings. Students pay individually when they arrive for the skate night: $8 per person (which includes rental skates). Arrangements must be made in advance. Students are encouraged to wear their school colors, Letterman jackets, etc. Chaperones are recommended. If you would like to extend the invitation to staff, parents, and siblings, we would welcome them as well!

Small Group Skates
Small groups - generally about 30 skaters or fewer - are invited to skate on any of our weekday public skate sessions. We are happy to offer a group rate of $8 per person (includes admission and skate rental). For these sessions, groups are asked to make one payment for entire group at the time of the skate session. Arrangements must be made at least 48 hours in advance.  Skating instruction may also be available at an additional fee.  If you would like to add a skating instructor, please place your request for your group skate at least one week in advance.

Corporate Outings

Tired of the same old company picnic or bowling party?  Strap on some skates and bring the office to the ice rink!

Bring up to 300 of your coworkers for a cool experience!  Rent the ice for your private use, shut down the office for the afternoon, and make some great memories!

Don't want to skate?  Check out Broomball!  It's like hockey, but played in your sneakers.  We provide the broomball sticks and nets.  Divide your group into teams and slide around the ice for an hour.  It's a great workout and an even better TEAM BUILDING activity!

Or...

Bring just a small group and skate on a public skating session.  We are happy to offer a group rate of $8 each to groups of 10 or more skaters.  Group rates are only available on weekdays and arrangements must be made in advance.  Please contact parties@KettlerCapitalsIceplex.com to make arrangements.
