Learn to Skate Classes

Kettler Capitals Iceplex offers instruction to figure skaters, hockey players and recreational skaters, who want to bolster their confidence, enhance their skills and increase their enjoyment.  The Learn to Skate program at Kettler has been recognized as the second largest in the country.  Whether it's your first time in skates or you are looking to take your skills to the next level, join us for lessons at our fantastic facility!

Kettler Capitals Iceplex provides a wide range of classes for all ages and abilities. Our group lesson program is a US Figure Skating Basic Skills structure offering options for beginner to advanced skaters.  Group classes are also offered for Hockey, Fitness Skate and Adaptive Learning.  Specialty classes for figure skaters include Power Stroking, Jump, Spin, Ice Dancing and Synchro.

Our classes are organized by skating ability and age.  Learn to Skate (LTS) sessions are offered approximately every 7 weeks.  Brochures are available and registration is open approximately 3 weeks before the session begins.  Most classes are 30 minutes long and include free rental skates.  Each skater will also receive a practice card good for admission to an equal number of public sessions as paid classes in the session.

You may enroll for classes online or in person at the front desk of the facility.  If you do not see your desired class on the website, then it is at capacity or the current session has already started.  Check the front desk for class availability.  Our online registration may include classes that were not listed in the brochure.  We add classes as we can, as others fill capacity.

Please wear warm clothes, including gloves. We recommend a helmet for beginning skaters.
